Carolyn Lou Oiler, 64, of Richmond, Ohio,formerly of Bristolville, OH, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Trinity West Medical Center, Steubenville, OH. She was born February 10, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lewis Raymond and Thelma Clifton Oiler. She was a member of Voice of Pentecost in Weirton, WV. Carolyn was a former police officer in Trumbull County, OH, a former dispatcher for Columbiana County, OH, and a hair dresser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter S. Arboczewski, second husband, James J. Shaffer,and third husband,Thomas W. Vickroy. Also preceded by two brothers Lewis R. Oiler Jr. and Larry J. Oiler. She is survived by her son, James J. Shaffer, and his wife, Shellee of Warren, OH, one brother, James W. Oiler, and his wife, Dora, of Wintersville, OH, four sisters, T. Janet Tournay, and her husband, Robert, of Weirton, WV, Grace Evelyn Cervenak (Jack Allison), of Toronto, OH, Brenda D. Heaton, and her husband, Dave, of Brilliant, OH, and Sharen E. Shields, and her husband,Robert, of Reno, NV, four grandchildren, James J., Joseph Allen, Kirsti Renee and Jordan Patrick. Friends will be received on Friday, February 18, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. until time of service at 8:00 P.M. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037, with Rev. Robert Keenan officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
