Survived By: Surviving are her husband of 66 years , whom she married November 22, 1944, Alfiero (Alfred) Grampa, at home, four children and their families, John Grampa and his wife, Jean, of Concord, OH, Rudy Grampa and his wife, Lois, of Longs, SC, Bruno Grampa and his wife, Marianne, of Moundsville, WV, Melinda Bronchik and her husband, James, of Madison, IN, one sister, Emma Salvatori, of Wheeling, WV, ten grandsons, Matthew, Marcus (Shannon), Daniel, Bradley, Joseph, David (Allison), Jonathan, Timothy, Nicholas Grampa, and Bryan Bronchik.
Affiliations: Agnes was a graduate of Wellsburg High School in 1940. During WWII, she worked at Wellsburg Pulp and Paper. She devoted her life as a homemaker, wife, and mother. She was a great cook, and took a lot of pride in preparing delicious Italian meals, especially homemade pizza. She was a life long member of Altar Rosary Society and the Holy Family Catholic Church in Beech Bottom, WV. She enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends. Agnes enjoyed needlework, jigsaw puzzles, and her favorite TV programs were Dancing With The Stars, Mountaineer and Steeler Football.

 

 

Agnes Amelia Grampa, 88, of Beech Bottom, WV, entered into rest on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.

 

She was born on April 10, 1922 in Cliftonville, WV, the youngest daughter of the late John and Lina Floriani Amplatz. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Caroline (Lena) Mazzella.

 

Agnes was a graduate of Wellsburg High School in 1940.  During WWII, she worked at Wellsburg Pulp and Paper. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main St. Wellsburg, WV 26070.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Beech Bottom, WV, with Father Vincent Joseph, as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
